Programmer Exam Details

Starting October 4 2000, Sun has changed the format for Java Programmer Certification exam for Java 2 (SCJP2). The following are the changes in Sun's Java Certification exam.
1. How much do I need to pay to write Java certification exam?
The cost of exam varies from country to country.

2. Do I have to show any identity at testing centre before taking exam?
Yes. You have to show at least two of your identities.
3. How may questions will be asked in the exam and what is the duration of the exam ?
The exam consists of around 59 questions. The time limit to complete the exam is 90 minutes . I think the time given is well sufficient.
4. What is the pattern of the exam ?
The exam questions will be in the form of Multiple choice or Fill in the blanks .In the new exam pattern more questions are being asked related to coding than pure theory.
5. What is the Qualifying percentage for the exam?
You should get at least 61% to pass the exam.
6. What do I get after passing the exam ?
After passing the exam, within 6 weeks you get the Sun Certified Programmer certificate from SUN Microsystems. Then if you are interested you can send an agreement form to Sun Microsystems to permit you, to use Sun logo on your business cards and letter heads etc.
