I agree completely with Sowmya's answer.
This is the process followed in a project based company or in a company which takes up projects exclusively for testing(these companies follow very formal procedures because they have to submit that reports to 3rd party).
But, when it comes to the product based companies, most of the steps remain same in one way or the other way. But some of them may be overseen (because they don't have to submit reports to 3rd party).
