3. 1440 is the total income of A, B, C together. A, B& C spends 80 ,85 and 70 % resp. Their savings are in a ration 89. Then what is their income?


4. In an examination 20% cleared non of the to subjects, 518 cleared both English and hindi, 72% cleared Hindi and 60% cleared English. Find how many appeared for the exam?

1) 70x=60(x+0.5)
x=3
but v need 70x
70*3=210
2)120x/100+110/100*(100-x)=112/100*100
on solving v get x=20

remember ven diagrams

n(AUB)=n(A)+n(B)-n(A^B)

and n(AUB)=TOTAL-NONE PASSED

then

x-0.2x=0.72x+0.6x-518

-> 0.52x=518
then find x
