since they are walking towards each other,
relative vel of approach = 20 kmph
distance = 20 km


so, time taken by them to meet = 1 hr


since, speed of bird is 15 kmph,
so distance travelled by it in 1 hr = 15 km

cost of 1 egg = 12/x
so, cost of 12 eggs = 144/x


in 2nd case,
no of eggs bought for 12 pounds = x+2


so, cost of 1 egg = 12/(x+2)
cost of 12 eggs = 144/(x+2)


in 2nd case, dozen eggs cost 1 pound less,


so,


144/x = 144/(x+2) + 1


solving, we get,
x=16

so,

on 2nd, he had a loss of 10%,
so,
S2 = 0.9C2 --------------------------(ii)


so we have,


S1+S2 = 1.1C1 + 0.9C2


but, S1+S2 = 210
so,


1.1C1 + 0.9C2 = 210 -------------------(iii)


on total, he made a profit of 5%,


((total profit)/(total CP))*100 = 5


or,


((210 - (C1+C2))/(C1+C2))*100 = 5


simplifying, we get,


C1+C2 = 200 -----------------------(iv)


putting C2 = 200 - C1 in (iii), we get,


1.1C1 + 0.9(200-C1) = 210


or, C1 = 150
=> C2 = 50
