(a) Rs. 4000

(d) Rs. 9000
The profit is distributed among the partners in the ratio of their invertments.
let the investment of Raunaq be 'x' for 6 months.
His investment for one yr =2x
ratio of investments = ratio of profits
20,000/2x=6000/3000
on sloving x =5000

I think in ques A's contribution is 10,000
then Answer would be 4000
if u take it as B's contribution then there is no answer in the given choices
Sol:Ratio of their profits=5:3:2
let their investments be A's is 5x b's is 3x and c's is 2x
5x=10000
x=2000
So C's capital =2x=4000

8. A and B start a business jointly. A invests Rs. .16,000 for 8 months and B remains in the business for 4 months. Out of total profit, B claims 2/7 of the profit. How money was contributed by B ?
(a) Rs. 10,500
(b) Rs. 11,900
(c) Rs. 12,800
(d) Rs. 13,600
Sol:A's investment is 16000 for 8 months
Let B's investment be 'x' for 8months.
then B's investment for 4 months =x/2
ratio of investments=ratio of profits
B claims 2/7th of profit means A's profit is 5/7th part
16000:x/2= 5:2
solving for x we get x=12800Edited by: keerthi

HI ,

Need clarification regd: 8th question.

What does that "B remians for 4 months" means?

Does it mean that B still remains in the busiess even after A is left? Then B must be in the business for 12 months.
