1. The circumference of a circle, whose area is 24.64 m2. is :

(a) 14.64 m
(b) 16.36 m
(c) 17.60 m
(d) 18.40 m
Ans :
(c) 17.60 m
Solution: Area of circle is is 24.64 metre square = pi*r*r ( r is radius)
r = 2.8
Circumference= 2*pi*r = 2 * pi * 2.8 = 17.6 m

(a) 460
(b) 500

let the no of coins required be 'x'
x[pi*(0.75)^2*0.2] = pi*(3)^2 *8
solving we get x= 640

10. The length of one diagonal of a rhombus is 80% of the other diagonal. The area of the rhombus is how many times the square of the length of the other diagonal ?
(a) 4/5
(b) 2/5
(c) 3/4
(d) 1/4
Area =1/2*d1*d2
given d2 = 80% (d1) = 4/5(d1)
area = 1/2 (4/5 d1^2)= 2/5 d1^2
