UR VALUABE SUGGESTION REQUIRED

Hi,
I am a 2006 B.tech graduate in ECE now i have got a job(joining date 3rd jan DELHI) in small electronics firm which works on mosfet devices related small projects but i want to join an IT firm. NOW i stay kolkata where very rare offcampus interviews of big companies r held n already i have sat for few big companies(in 2006) but could not clear it .

Now i have a question whether to join the company or not , as i am 2006 passout n fresh batch will come out in march 2007.
1.Now in an offcampus interview r they goin to ask me what i was doin last yr, n if they do, what should be my reply if i dont join the company.

2.Now should i leave the offer which i got kowing that very few offcampus interviews r held in kolkata n whether in 2007 ,2006 passout batch is allowed to sit or not.
3.And if i do join then will it be possible for me to shift to IT domain.

my sugg is ............if r intrested to do then dont leave the job tht u got.......being in the job also u can attend for other interviews n u can shift to IT industry.....and also u'll get exp also....................
so join the job and try for IT job being in tht job.

dont leave this offer
bcz getting an opp u have to use it
once an oppurtinty is lost u cannot get back
being in this job u wil l get confidence
tryfor it jobs at the same
and also u will get exp

I agree with Spoorthi and Ajay. Even I will suggest you to join that company. Oppertunity don't knock twice... think wise.

Its better to do some job rather than sitting idol hoping for something else. Even while doing this job (in electronics) you can attend IT jobs and more over in NCR region, you will have more openings and thus more oppertunities to get selected in IT companies. Use this oppertunity as a medium to IT job.

Again there is bit problem which i would like to share is that the company has kept a bond for 3yrs where i have to give them my originial educational certificates so what should i do know should i join it.PLz guide me

my sugg dont keep cerfificates any where
bcz its danger to keep certificates
once u give certificates there u are held up
ask him that i wont keep certificates but i will give assurance
that i can stay here for some time and ask him i will write bond for 1 years
and know me the bond details

hey while keeping your originial certificates do think twice or thrice ....
3yrs bond - 4 this whats the sal package they r offering you?
what r the things 2 b done if u break your bond ?
know all these details b4 joining itself ....
u shld b very carefull while submitting your originals ....
so think abt it ....

I too agree with Ajay, Spoorthi and vjsreevs.

3 years is a very long period. Before you take any decision, be clear on how much you need to pay to break the bond, what is the initial package offered and when is the next hike and how much we can expect in next hike (for an average performer).

If the breaking cost to high and package is less or medium, better think again before joining it. If the bond breaking cost is too high then probably its not wise to break it and after 3 years, it may become difficult to enter IT field if you are completely away from IT in these 3 years.

Think twice or thrice. Frist decise how firm are you in joining IT firm. Is it the money that matters for you or a job IT industry that matters for you. Refine and be clear in you ideas and take decision. Once you are clear in your ideas, speak to you parents/well-wishers. Probably they will help/guide you better and take correct decision.

THanks to all of for guding me ,ya i have talked to the person who recruited me n i have some how managed to skip producing original certificates n i am sure if i join the company i will take them into confidence that i wil not leave the company.However regarding the salary the salary is not too high(5000+lodging) for 6months (training period) after that there will be a hike n will be b/w 10k to 15k.They have not given any written documents on such details or any offer letter n have asked to come over to delhi where every documentation will be done .I have managed to delay my joining , i even send my friend there to see what kind of comapny is it n there work ,he had given me +ve reply.But i would like u all to suggest what should i do ?

Its great that you convinced them so that you don't have to present your original certificates. I think now you don't have any major hurdles. Salary is not really a very big criteria as a fresher. If nothing else, atleast you will get experience which is very important.

I think now you can join the company. But before signing the agreement bond, read it fully. Especially the breaking terms. I also heard from some people that companies will ask you to sign some loan papers or similar so that candidate don't create any issues in future. Ofcouse they will return it back once your bond period is complete.
