Need Suggestion for starting Career

Hi,

I am M.C.A. fresher 2006 passed out and I have done Oracle 10g DBA course in February. I am looking for fresher DBA jobs but can't find till now. Today I faced interview in one of the IT company as a DBA fresher and selected in 2 rounds. But the company is asking 3 years bond with limited salary means 6 months RS.5,000 and in 2008 the salary will be Rs. 7,500 and in 2009 it will be 15,000 and in 2010 it will be 25,000. Now I am confused whether to accept this bond and salary structure or wait for the next opportunity to come. Please friends give me the suggestion what can I do at this position?

Re: Need Suggestion for starting Career

idris,

First check if the company is an big and established or not. What is the bond breaking cost? If the company is established, then I will say better take the opportunity. If the company is good, then working for 3 yrs is not a big deal. More over, there are opportunities mostly for experienced and you are no more remained fresher for many companies.

Any how if you get a really pleasing opportunity in mean while, you can always break bond.

Thanks,
Krishna

Hi Idris,

what kireeti told is exactly right, if u r a fresher and ur getting a job to start up career, i suggest you to join the company, breaking a bond is not a big deal and one more thing is if u maintain good relationship with your company, when u get a pleasing opportunity they 'll relieve u. but first of all u r getting an experience of three years. and after that u'll be a free bird and also consistently working for 3 or more years for a single company counts more

Let me know your questions

Thank You

Hi Idris,

Both Kireeti's and Mohan's views are absolutely correct and one more thing you need to remember is oppurtunity knocks only once and should never leave it...so u can join the company without any second thought as u already spent 1yr..and since u wish to get into DBA...be sure to know the reputation of the organization, the working culture and whether u can really use your DBA's skills that fetches u real time experience ( i.e know the job profile completely before joining )...and as said breaking a bond is no big deal...

Thanks,
Prashanth

Re: Need Suggestion for starting Career

Bond breaking cost is too high. Do you have any friends or relatives who are working in that company? If your impression on the company (don't base this on what company HR says. But depend on other employees and friends or well wishers feedback and your personal observation when you entered company) is good, better join it. But, breaking the bond should not come in mind (keeping in mind the amount).

What ever the decision is, either take it or leave it, let it be your decision. Don't make anyone else responsible for your decision. Otherwise, it will only leave regrets.

Thanks,
Krishna
