need your suggestion for starting my career

hi all,
to introduce myself, i am B.Tech. 2003 passout in CSE.after passing my graduation i had decided that i will go for some top MBA college but could'nt make it.and i wasted 2 years for that only.i only wanted to join the top 8-10 colleges only.then suddenly i panicked and in a hurry i joined a college as a lecturer.worked there for 8-10 months and then joined a call center in bangalore and worked there for about 1 year.i attended in between some interviews but couldnt clear it.and now i have spent last 5-6 months sitting idle having pessimism surrounding me and my mind simply not able to think logically what to do and how to proceed.
when i see around all my friends have settled in nice companies and this makes me even more dissappointed.my problem is that what should i do next to get a job somewhere.my friends have suggested me to go for fake experience but simply i dont have enough courage at the moment to go for that coz how will i manage to justify 2-3 years of fake experience in the interviews.BPO is an option but i dont want BPO now having worked there for a while.
guys out there i seriously need your suggestions as to how to proceed for a job as i have compeltely lost my confidence.is there any chance that i can get a job without putting fake experience no matter how small the company and how low is the pay. i am even ready for any other field but no BPO plz.
i have been a fool or stupid enough till now but now i seriously want to change that.
give me some hope guys.

hi frd,
remember one thing wat ever happened is happened....its past....we cant change tht or we cant bring it back....so dont think abt tht...dont get disappoint instead of tht think abt ur future and try to make changes watever u can by trying ur best n best......then very soon u r gng to settle......
now u've realized and wants to settle down in a field ....its nice change frd....be serious at ur decission.
now come to ur pt....in wat field u r intrested? do u knw any technology like c,c++,dot net, java etc..............i think u want to settle in IT field itself.....in wt field u r perfect.......let us knw the details.....

Re: need your suggestion for starting my career

Hi altidude,

'Remedy for weakness is not brooding over the weakness, but trying to find a solution to overcome the weakness' - alwayz remember never to give up hope...belief in yourself that u can infact change things will keep u optimistic...i do understand ur situation...since u r from CSE - i hope u have basic programming knowledge...first decide on a technology...take courses if needed...once decided try to build confidence in that technology...then u have to search...for an organization(small or entry level)...recruiting freshers...and prove urself...and finding an oppurtunity is not that easy...but their is nothing IMPOSSIBLE...u can even specify as part of your cv all that u have done in these four years and can justify that u want to have a CAREER SHIFT...but should show that u mean what u say...so..don't waste time...choose a language...and go on....
All the best and remember not to give up hope at any moment
Be confident that u can do it...

Thanks,
Prashanth

Re: need your suggestion for starting my career

thanks all for your valuable suggestions.
i also want to ask is would it be beneficial to get related certification after doing some course.will it provide some bonus in job hunt although i have no experience. and will this gap of 3 years hinder in my career progress even after getting a fresher job. thanks and regards.

Re: need your suggestion for starting my career

Hi altidude

First if you have choosen a technology like Java, then going for certification will definitely be an added advantage but should not wait for it's completion and then start searching for job..it would be better if you can prepare parallelly. As i said before, you have to justify what all you have done in the past three years but it wont be a matter once u get a job.

Thanks,
Prashanth

Re: need your suggestion for starting my career

greetings mate,
Remember one thing " You will only prosper in a field that u are interested in ".
So if you are interested in Java, you can go for Java certification like SCJP, of course certifications will be an added advantage. You said u even like persuing MBA, well u can always do that wen you get a job ( long distance..something like that )..This way it will be advantageous to you, career-wise.

Good Luck mate.

Re: need your suggestion for starting my career

hi frd,
deff certification has bonus in your job search.............
but after completion of the course while preparing for the certification simultaneously apply for jobs also...........attend for interviews too............bcoz now a days heavy competition so dont waste your time......remember certification will be added advantage but not compulsary in job search..............all the best
