I had Cleared all interview rounds and now they say 'its under client approval'!!Pls clarify on this.

Hi Friends,
I would like to get one clarification .Recently,I had a series of interviews with one of the software companies in bangalore for Senior QA Engineer.Initially I had a telephonic interview,which went on well,then they called me to attend face to face intw at their site,had another round with a panel there(which I thought went good), and after that they put me onto some manager (which looked more or less like a formality) who just asked few normal HR quetsions and I was able to project myself well there also.Since I was ina hurry,as I was getting late to my current office,after that, I was told that they would schedule a HR interview over phone and I can proceed since I was in hurry. I asked the person from the recruitment team,if things are looking positive,and she told that things are verymuch positive but still I had to go through formalities of HR intw etc.and I also thought so since I had made it till the HR round and was confident that I did well in the earlier rounds.

Before the HR interview started over the phone,I was called by that person from the recruitment team,to send my last two months payslips,and I sent them accordingly to her email.After few min,I got the HR interview call from the HR,and after the initial few question,when the salary negotian part came,I projected that I would require 30-33% more than wht am getting.Later He told few policies and history abt their company,and told that they will send my profile to their client and get back to me.All this happened 2 days back.And y'day the same person from recruitment team who had organised all the interviews,called me in the morning and told again that they have sent my profile to the client and if they get any response ,they would keep me posted.
And after that,(after that call yesterday),I have had no updates at all.

I'm bit confused because I had thought I had almost got the offer,by the way things went,but sicne there is no update,I'm starting to think that I might have asked for more pay in teh HR round..or may be the earlier tech intw might not have gone too well to convince them(though i was put for the next rounds with manager and teh HR rounds!).
Could anyone give me some picture which they might be aware of.Is it ok for me to give that persona call back to check??or shall i wait for few more days??or is it another way of telling that I'm not selected by telling that they have sent it for client approval???or does it mean that they ahve kept my name for pipeline in case they get any requirement for any project???
