Is MCA is equivalent to BE/BTECH in computer science

Is MCA is equivalent qualification like BE/BTECH in Computer application.

Actually I did my mca from IGNOU..Can I apply to the postion for BE/Btech engineer....



Please suggest me .... I will be greatful to you

Actually in my point of view all the degrees in computer science are same worth. Its nothing that if u study MCA its different than B.E or B.Tech. Ya i agree,there may be few changes in semester wise but not in the subject wise. Now a days what ever u study the salary or the job type are all same.... They see degree only for interviews , once you get into the company all are same. (A employee with B.Sc computer background may get huge salary coz of experience).And you also when ypou get his experience will get the same.So whats the use.???? Its just for your dignity you should say i'm MCA,M.Tech ,B.E etc. But all same.

MCA is an professional qualification like B.E/B.tech, sure you can apply for the posts requiring B.E/B.Tech... :-) Cheers!

Yea you can say, MCA is equivalent to BE/B.Tech. But as MCA is a post graduation degree where as BE/B.Tech is just an graduation. So MCA person hold more recognition and respect than a BE/B.Tech

I suggest you should go for M.tech, to get more job opportunities than a MCA get. M.Tech get more advanced and higher level placements than a MCA individual.

MCA is equivalent to ME.

MCA with Bsc (Computer Science) background is equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering).

Bsc Computer Science (3 Yrs) + MCA (3 Yrs) = 6 Yrs.

BE Computer Science (4 Yrs) + ME (2Yrs) = 6 Yrs.

MCA and ME both are equal.

Companies are giving equal priority to both MCA and ME.
