Re: Requirements to learn SQL at Home

Hi Yogesh,

Which sQL you want to learn? is your Oracle SQL or SQL Server or MySQL or something else?

I believe you will be more interested to learn Oracle SQL as you have done a course on Oracle Apps and it is supported only with Oracle SQL.

First check which version of Oracle is available to you and get the CD and read the readme.txt file in the cd. It will have all the hardware and software requirements. You can choose accordingly.

In general, if you have 512MB RAM and Pentium 1GHz processor and Windows XP or 2000 professional should be enough to install Oracle Professional edition.

Thanks,
Krishna

Re: Requirements to learn SQL at Home

Hi Krishna Hi Sree !!

Krishna you have rightly pointed out, I am interested in learning SQL related to Oracle Apps. Thanks for your suggestion. As per the systems requirements suggested by you, I only need to upgrade my RAM.

Hi Sree! you are right. I am trying to learn basic general concepts of SQL & SQL to a considerable level which shall help me in knowing the technical errors (understanding error codes) in Oracle Apps and their solutions. I want to be familiar with error codes and techinical issues, so that I can interact with the techinical team easily.

Thanks once again...

Re: Requirements to learn SQL at Home

Hi Yogesh,

Even if youi have 256MB RAM (or even low), you can install Oracle. But system may perform slow. So, first you can try this option and if you feel perf is very slow, then you can think of upgrade.

Thanks,
Krishna
