Help required regarding changing over to IT Job

Hi Friends
About me I completed my Diploma in E&C and immediately got into a manufacturing industry in their CNC maintenance department in the year 1997 Then I joined BE (E&C) at BMS Evening college Bangalore in 2000 and completed in the year 2005 my percentage is low & also cleared some subjects in second attempt as I had to cop up with my work and studies. Presently I am working as a Plant Maintenance engineer. I am looking forward to change my field to IT as I am fed up of the present job. I have knowledge of computer hardware and networking, SAP BASIS. Can any one help me? Any suggestions? To start with any salary & even a small organization is ok.

hi frd,
as u r hvng domain exp......if u'll do some hardwork then u can get job.
in wat field u r perfect? computer hardware or SAP BASIS.
select any one of the field and prepare ur resume ....apply to all job sites. u'll get it.
try to attend as many interviews as u can.
for SAP u wont get as a fresher ...for freshers there r very few oppr....if u r gng for SAP u can keep ur old exp ...it works like domain exp....is there any related sub with ur job and BASIS? if it is related like extracting data like tht then it will be more useful bcoz u can answer those in interrview pt of time.
so 1st select the field in wat u r perfect and then proceed....

Thank you. There is no related subjected between my job and SAP BASIS. Many suggested to join some software-testing course and get into software testing, as there are lot of vacancies. Any suggestions? Good institutes in Bangalore?

frd as u've done already SAP BASIS...........its better to try on tht.
there r so many oppr on SAP....bcoz currently and in future also SAP boom is there.....and also u'll have nice salary package.
so my advice is try on SAP basis instead of again joining in testing tools and spending 1month time in tht course.....better try on BASIS.
if u r in bang.......i think in bang there r so and so amny oppr for SAP......u'll get plenty of oppr.
just prepare ur resume with nice proj and apply for jobs..........prepare on some topics confidently and try....

as spoorthi said above u dnt need 2 turn 4m SAP BASIS to testing ....
prep ur resume effectively & uploa it in2 all majore job portals ....
attend as many interviews as u can ....
dnt look 4 cmpny r sal untill u get the initial brk ....
later on u can shift 2 better place ....
