Data import from other source to QTP.

I was working with QTP9.2 and using MS Excel for data import to QTP. Recently I removed MS Excel and Installed opensource
OpenOffice.org Calc(same as Excel and allows to create file in .xls).
Now the QTP9.2 is not able to read the data from the spreadsheet. Please do help me out with any alternate solution if any.
