2)[/b]. Can you name the smallest integer that can be written with two digits?

3)[/b].There are thirty-four lines that an~ tangent to a circle, and these line$ create regions in the plane. Can you tell how many. of these regions are not enclosed?

4)[/b]. Here is a multiplication:
159 x 48 = 7632
Can you see something peculiar in this multiplication? Yes, all the nine digits are different. How many other similar numbers can you think of?

5)[/b]. What is the sum of all numbers between 100 and 1000 which are divisible by 14?

6)[/b]. Multiply 21978 by 4
Now see if you can find a pair of palindromes

Name the next three numbers in the series

8).[/b] Can you change a rupee note in such a way that there are exactly fifty coins? No 2 Paise coins

10)[/b] . How many numbers between 400 and 600 begin with or end with a digit of 5 ?

Answers

1.There is nothing to explain here. The driving time there and-back is absolutely the same because 90 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes are one and the same thing.This problem is meant for inattentive readers who may think that there is some difference between 90 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes

2..The smallest integer that can be written with two digits is not 10'as one may assume. But it is expressed as follows:
1/1 2/2 3/3 4/4 etc up to 9/9

3. 68 regi9'Os. Each new tangent increases the non -enclosed areas by two

4. One can think of at least 9 ~xamples :
39 x 186 = 7254
. 18 x 297 = 5346 28 x 157 = 4396 42 x 138 = 5796 12 x 483 = 5796 48 x 159 = 7632
4 x 1738 = 6952
27 x 198 = 5346
4 x 1963 = 7852
If you try patiently, perhaps you may come up
with some more

5. S : 112 + 126 +…………994
S - 14 (8 + 9 +………….71)
S = 14 (8 + 71) (71 - 8 + 1)
2
S = 7(79) (64) 35392

6. 4 x 21978 = 87912. The number is reversed

7. 15, 21, 28. These are triangular numbers:
1, 3, 6, )0, 15 21 28 …….n (n + 1)
2

8. 45 Paise, 2 five Paise, 2 ten Paise and 1 twenty five Paise

9. 7,346,648,004,560,986,215,348,444,286, 445, 305, 146, 039, 140, 046, 960, 678, 582,256, 003

10. Numbers satisfying the given conditions are 405, 415, 425, 435, 445, 455, 465, 475,
485, 495 and 500 to 599.
Number of such numbers = (10 + 100) = 110

Answer:

40 one paise coins+ 8 five paise coins+ 2 ten paise coins==> so total 50 coins.

Cross check: 40+40+20 => 1 Rupee.

Hi Keerthi,

10th question is about How many numbers between 400 and 600 begin with or end with a digit of 5.

The answer is 110.
