1. A frog goes 3 metres up in a well in a day and goes 2 metre
down in night. How time will it take to cover 30 metres. 2. A+B+C+D=D+E+F+G=G+H+I=17 .A to I are different digits between 1 to 9. A=4.Find the value of D & G. 3. Find the number of numbers that can be formed by assuming one number left to 15 and one right to 15 so that the 4 digit number so formed is exactly divisble by 15. 4. There is a faulty weighing machine such that if there is a one kg weight on one side, then 8 melons are equivalent on the other side of weighing machine....If the 1kg weight is placed on the other side, then 2 melons weigh equal to the 1 kg stone.....what is the weight of the melon? please note that all melons weigh equal 5. work can be done by 4 people in 32 days . how many more days will it take if 16 people join them 2 days after?

5. work can be done by 4 people in 32 days . how many more days
will it take if 16 people join them 2 days after? Ans: remaining days is 6 days... Total time is 2+ 6 =8 days... Sol: take work done by 1 people on one day is 1 work.. Then work done by 4 people on one day is 4.. So, total work is 4X 32 =128 work First 2 days, work done by 4 people.. completed work is 8... Remaining work is 128-8=120.. Total people for remaining days is 4+16=20 total day remaining is 120/20 = 6 days

4. let offset on left side be t1 and offset on right side is t2. that is if u add t1 on left side and t2 on right side, then both wts will show correct reading or u can say add t1 on left side and t2 on right side with nothing else in them, then the 2 wts are equal. ok? ![]() now let wt of each melon is xxx ![]() then 1 kg + t1 = 8xxx + t2 => t2-t1 = 8xxx - 1 again, 2xxx+t1 = 1 kg + t2 => t2 - t1 = 2xxx - 1 => 6xxx = 2 or xxx = 1/3 kg = wt of each melon ![]() 4. 6 days is right by Ms Rena 2. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i always forget this!!!!!!!3. many nos. 33 nos. divisible by 15 in which ab15 where a,b may be sameu can calculate for 15ab also ![]() |

Re: Puzzles contest - 87
2) A+B+C+D=D+E+F+G=G+H+I=17
A=4 Find the values of D&G? A) A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H+I+(D+G)=17*3 Sum Of First n Natural Numbers =n(n+1)/2 =9*10/2 =45 45+(D+G)=51 (D+G)=6 The Possible values for D& G are {1,5} {5,1} Suppose D=1 and G=5 A+B+C+D=17 4+B+C+1=17 B+C=12 The Possible Values can be {3,9}{9,3} If We Take B=3 n C=9 then 4 3 9 1 E F 5 E+F has to be 11 The POssible Values can be {(2,9),(9,2),(3,8)(8,3),(6,5),(5,6)} But We can't Take any of the values So our assumption d=1, n g=5 is wrong So D=5 N G=1 |

3)To Be Divisble By 15 it must be divisible by 5 n 3
So the last digit must be 5 or 0 The Numbers Are 1 1 5 5 3 1 5 0 4 1 5 5 6 1 5 0 7 1 5 5 9 1 5 0 So Total 6 |
