A train which travels at a uniform speed due to some mechanical fault after traveling for an hour goes at 3/5th of the original speed and reaches the destination 2 hrs late.If the fault had occurred after traveling another 50 miles the train would have reached 40 min earlier. What is distance between the two stations?

saari fasaad ki jar woh50 miles hee hai
agar i had travelled 50 miles with speed s and if i had travelled that 50 miles with (3/5)s, only this thing has caused time diference of 40 minutes. so 50/(3/5)s - 50/s = 40/60 s = 50 miles/ hr now x/s = 1 hr => x =50 miles d/s = t and x/s + d-x/(3/5)s = t+2 and s=50 and x=50 and my dimaag = exceptional pointer error ![]() which gives d = 200 miles between2 stationsand total time taken is 4hrs had no error been occurredandcoincidentally this time isequal to the time taken by me to solve this question. take for granted some error in my solution! |
