Gandhi Jayanti is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi known as Bapu or the Father of the nation, who sacrificed his entire life for bringing peace and non- violence. Indians irrespective of their cast and religion observe Gandhi Janyati every year on October 2^nd. This day is also declared as a National Holiday of India. The International society will celebrate this day as International day of Non – Violence.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbunder, Gujrat state of India on 2^nd October month in 1856. He entitled law degree in United Kingdom. He practiced law in South Africa. But freedom struggle in India stirred his heart, made him quit his profession and bring back him India.

Gandhiji with his Mantra of Peace brought the entire nation in one line. It is he who has ultimate belief in non- cooperation and non violence. Gandhi implemented his theories strictly to fetch fruitful results. He started the movement of Satyagraha to free India from the clutches of British. He expressed his resistance towards Britons peacefully. One day he achieved not only what he longed but also what the entire Indians dreamed.
