Indian Oil plans to recruit around 350 Engineers/Officers from various disciplines including Fire Engineering, Boiler Operations (BOEs) and HR.
Applications are invited from young and energetic persons with initiative and enterprise, desirous of making a career with IndianOil. Of this, 49 will be selected as Graduate Apprentice Engineers who would be absorbed as Officers after One Year’s training subject to their performance being found satisfactory.

QUALIFICATION :
The prescribed qualifications with minimum 65% marks in respect of Engineering disciplines and 60% in respect of HR discipline for GEN/OBC candidates and pass class for SC/ST/PH candidates in concerned qualifying Degree examination (Full Time Regular Course), from recognized Indian University / Institute. For BOEs. the requirement of minimum 65% marks in qualifying Engineering Degree Examination is not applicable.

Engineering Disciplines:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology (Chemical [including Petrochemicals], Mechanical [excluding Production/Industrial Engg.], Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, Metallurgy, Computer Science / Information Technology) and Fire Engineering.

Human Resource
Master of Business Administration or its equivalent 2-year Post-Graduate Diploma with specialization in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations or Human Resource / Master of Social Work with specialization in Personnel Management & Labour Welfare.

Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE)Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical or Mechanical with Boiler Operation Engineer's Certificate (1st Class proficiency) and minimum 2 years post BOE experience in the operation of large size Thermal Power Plant having a Coal/Oil/Gas fuelled Boiler (requirement of minimum 65% marks in the Engineering degree examination is not applicable). Period of experience relaxed to ONE Year for SC/ST candidates.

AGE LIMIT: Not exceeding 26 years for Engineers/GAEs/Management Graduates(HR) and 28 years for BOEs as on 30th June 2007 (relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years for SC/ST/EXSM, 3 years for OBC & 10 years for Physically Challenged persons).

Health

The candidate should be in good physical & mental state and shall meet the laid down standards for medical fitness to perform duties in Refineries, Pipelines & Marketing Division of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The candidates with diseases including but not limited to, Myopia & Hypermetropioa exceeding + - 4.00, ischemic heart disease, cardiac vascular diseases, cirrhosis and chronic liver disease, renal failure, diabetes, mellitus with target organ damage, seizure disorder, major psychiatric disease, drug abuse and malignancy shall be disqualified. Selection, Training & Placement

The selection methodology will comprise - Written Test (objective type consisting of two parts - General Aptitude and Discipline Knowledge), Group Discussion / Group Task and Personal Interview for assessment of different facets of Knowledge, Skill, Attitude and Aptitude. Candidates will have to pass through each stage of selection process successfully before being adjudged as suitable for final selection. Candidates applying for BOE discipline, will not be required to appear in the written test.

Candidates selected as Engineers / Officers will get a Base Pay of Rs.20424/- p.m. (Basic Pay Rs.12000/- plus DA Rs.8424/-) in the scale of pay of Rs.12000-17500/- and will initially undergo training for a specified period before placement. Besides Basic Pay and industrial pattern of DA, the other allowances / benefits include HRA / subsidized housing accommodation (depending upon place of posting), Medical Facilities, Productivity Linked Incentive, Gratuity, Contributory Provident Fund, Employees Pension Scheme, Group Savings Linked Double Accident Insurance, Leave Encashment, Leave Travel Concession, Contributory Superannuation Benefit Fund Scheme, House Building Advance, Conveyance Advance / Maintenance Reimbursement, Professional Updation Allowance, Lap-Top PC, Children's Education Allowance etc. as per rules.The Cost-to-Company will be around Rs.5.65 lakhs p.a.

Candidates selected as Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs) for one-year apprenticeship training will be paid consolidated stipend @ Rs.20,000/- per month. Upon successful completion of apprenticeship training, they may be appointed as Engineers in the scale of pay referred above.

Selected candidates shall have all-India transfer liability and may be posted to any Division / Unit / Subsidiary Company / Office of the Corporation. They will have to execute a bond of Rs.One Lakh (Rs.25000/- for SC/ST/OBC & PH candidates) to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of three years from the date of joining (date of appointment as Engineer in case of GAEs after successful completion of training).

The online registration of application commences on 2nd May 2007 and closes on 23rd May 2007.

Concessions / Relaxations
Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PH (degree of disability 40% or above) as per Govt. Directives.
Age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PH candidates.
Age relaxation by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1.1.1980 and 31.12.1989.
Age relaxation by 5 years for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers (including ECOs / SSCOs) subject to rendering minimum 5 years' military service and fulfillment of other conditions prescribed by Govt. of India.
Exemption from payment of application fee for SC/ST and PH candidates.
Minimum standard of 65% marks in the Qualifying Degree Examination is relaxed to pass class for SC/ST/PH category candidates.
Reimbursement of 2nd Class Rail fare by the shortest route, to outstation SC/ST & PH candidates provided the distance travelled is not less than 30 km. (Candidates opting for examination centre other t han the centre nearest from mailing address will not be paid TA.)

While there is no application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates, General & OBC candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.300/- by Demand Draft drawn on State Bank of India, Service Branch (Code No. 7687) in favour of INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LIMITED (REFINERIES DIVISION) payable at New Delhi (enter the details of Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque details in the online application form).
Before finally submitting the on-line application, a provision to see the information (furnished by the candidate) on screen is system enabled. Please check correctness of information the furnished by you. In case of any mistake, click on the EDIT option and correct the relevant information.
Take a print out of your filled in Application Form, put your signature at the space provided for the purpose and send the same by Ordinary Post along with Demand Draft, attested copy of caste/ disability certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH by ordinary post to the Advertiser, Post Box No. 3098, Lodhi Road Head Post Office, New Delhi - 110-003, the same should reach the Post Box latest by 2nd June, 2007.

General Instructions
The candidates must have an active e-mail id, which must be valid at least for next 6 months.
On successfully submitting the On-line Application, an e-mail shall be sent to the candidate,to enable verifying the correctness of the e-mail id furnished in the Application Form. In case the mail is not received, the candidates may re-check their email id furnished by them.In case of a correction, the same may be intimated on allindiarec06@iocl.co.in duly indicating your name, Registration No. and date of birth.
The eligible candidates will be intimated about the date, time and venue of written test through e-mail on the e-mail id supplied by them through the online application form. The candidates can also log on to our corporate website www.iocl.com to check the schedule of written test from 18th June 2007 onwards.
Wherever CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade in a degree / diploma is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by University / Institute.
Candidates who have appeared/are appearing in final qualifying examination in 2007 may also apply. They will be required to select "RA" (Result Awaited) option from the drop down menu of online application form. However,these "RA" candidates will have to submit documentary proof of having passed the qualifying degree examination with minimum prescribed percentage of marks latest by 31.8.2007. Without this documentary proof, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the GD/GT and Interview.
PH candidates will be considered for selection against the identified posts.
Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in creamy layer will not be entitled to reservation and should apply as General Category candidate.
Candidates presently employed in Govt. Deptt. / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies should first apply through Online Application Form. The printout of the Application Form must be forwarded through proper channel to the Post Box number as specified above. Such candidates will also be required to submit NOC at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
A candidate can apply for one discipline only. Candidates applying for more than one discipline will not be considered.

Candidates have the option to obtain question paper in English or Hindi. The candidates must specify this option in the column provided in the application form.

Do not attach certificates / mark sheets etc. (except Demand Draft and attested photocopy of caste / disability certificate, where applicable) along with the Application Form. Since, candidature will be screened without documentary proof, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the post applied for.
The printed Application Form along with enclosure(s) must be received in the Post Box by 2nd June 2007.
Application Form of General and OBC candidates received without Demand Draft will be rejected.
Requests for change of Examination Centre / Category / Discipline, will not be entertained.
Written test is scheduled to be held on 8th July 2007.
