Commentary:
The Siebel Administrator is responsible for setting up, configuring and managing the Siebel Servers and providing technical direction for DELLâs software engineering strategies. He/She must assess and understand DELLâs business requirements for server administration on applications that are highly scalable, performant, secure and ready for global deployment.

Integrated Services Platform (ISP) is a strategic program in Services & Consumer IT space which defines Dell's CRM foot print to deliver solutions to customers. This program has 3 primary objectives viz to enable future business growth and strategic direction, to drive significant operational savings & to enable Support services Strategy. This global application would be used both inside Dell and directly by customers and Dell partners around the world â In terms of the scale, this global application would be approximately used by 30,000 customer care & technical support agents.

The Role
â Thorough knowledge in Siebel Server Installation, Server Components Configuration & Application Deployment Management (ADM)
â Repository Migrations, SSL Configuration of Siebel servers and web servers, EMAN monitoring of Servers and server components, Schedule cron jobs for automated stop and restart of Servers
â Knowledge of setting up load balancing, web-server plug-ins, name server (gateway server), document servers
â Give technical guidance and mentor a team of developers to deliver the solutions adhering to performance measurements (SARM)
â Providing guidance to team on configuration management & deployment strategies
â Proactive identification of issues and risks
â Technical standards development including coding guidelines and ensure adherence to technical standards
â Define initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity such as implementing automated test tools or new development methodologies within the team.

Experience Required
â 6-8 years of server administration, build, configuration management & deployment experience in Software engineering practices, with 2-4 years of experience as a Siebel Administrator.
â Experience in Siebel Server Installation, Siebel Server components configuration & Application Deployment Management (ADM)
â Experience in database modeling and design on Oracle
â Hands-on experience with and working knowledge of the following:
â Stop/Start Siebel servers, enable/disable server components (mandatory)
â Mobile Client setup, DB extraction, synchronization (mandatory)
â Maintenance of List of Values, MLOVs (mandatory)
â Analyzing the log files (mandatory)
â Compiling SRFs (Full Compile, Incremental Compile) (mandatory)
â Deploying SRFs in Siebel Servers (mandatory)
â Database Management (Analyzing/Querying the base tables)
â Oracle (mandatory)
â SOA/Webservices (desirable)
â UML (desirable)
â JUNIT and automated testing tools (desirable)
â Automated build and deployment processes
â Proven experience of delivering quality solutions on a fast-moving business environment
â Experience working with multi-cultural & multi-national software development team
â Availability and willingness to travel to other DELL locations worldwide

Qualification:
â Bachelors of Engineering/Technology degree in Computer Science or equivalent
â Siebel Certification would be an advantage
