Designation Module Lead - SQL Server DBA

Job Description POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Setup, install and configure MS-SQL 2005 and 2008 on Windows 2003/2008 platform.
Setup high availability database infrastructure using log shipping, replication and clustering technologies (such as Microsoft and VERITAS/Sun Cluster).
Perform database and SQL performance tuning using industry standard tools. Develop SQL scripts and stored procedures.
Monitor, troubleshoot and address database issues related to capacity, security and performance.
Perform routine database maintenance including backups, database monitoring, restore and recovery using industry standard tools. Setup and configure SQL jobs, maintenance plans, DTS etc.
Develop and maintain shell scripts for database environments. Assist developers with optimization of queries and problem resolution.
Develop and update technical documentation related to setup, maintenance, security and disaster recovery of database environments.
Secure the database environment by applying patches and hot-fixes as per guidelines.

Demonstrate customer service-oriented mentality to provide the best service for business clients,

Must be able to work with System management team to establish database security lockdown rules and procedures.

Demonstrate good communications skills and initiative to complete tasks and projects.
Ability to work successfully within and across multiple teams.
Ability to adhere to defined IT and business processes.
Provide off-hours (nights and weekends) support on a rotation schedule and carry a pager.
Experience working in a large enterprise environments is a big plus.
