Job Description:
D. E. Shaw India is seeking an exceptionally gifted individual for the role of Senior Network Engineer for our Systems group in Hyderabad. This person will be part of a team spanning across our offices globally. Candidates should have superb network design, implementation, and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong programming skills and an excellent understanding of best-of-breed network management practices.
Responsibilities include:
- developing scalable network designs for both our campus and global networks.
- identifying, researching, and evaluating emerging network technologies.
- developing and implementing network management and related tools.
- Engineering solutions for the firm's growing, highly-resilient network infrastructure.
The ideal candidate must have:
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise-level network design.
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-class routers and switches. (Cisco experience would be a plus)
- Superior understanding of network routing and switching protocols like BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis.
- In-depth understanding of network security and access control.
- Experience with VoIP, QoS, and IP Telephony technologies.
- Experience with network management automation, and scripting in Perl, Python, or Java.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with UNIX Systems administration. Prior exposure to Solaris/Linux would be a plus.
Network and security certifications such as CCNP and CCIE are a definite plus.
