Job Description:
•Works with JDA Associates to define JDA product database functional/technical requirements and project needs.
•Works with Development teams in supporting the database related activity
•Works with vendors to resolve database management related issues to maintain acceptable service and customer satisfaction levels.
•Maintains critical database and infrastructure at prescribed levels, and in notifying management and user communities when service levels are at risk.
•Maintains open lines of communication between JDA teams, external vendors and customers.
•Provides regular project communication and status reporting to the appropriate JDA associates to inform them of current and future activities, concerns and project issues.
Works with vendor support teams to resolve database management system related issues for external-facing systems to maintain acceptable service levels.
•Maintains internal and customer-facing system availability at acceptable service levels
•Maintains multiple server databases across OS platforms/locs to support JDA product efforts, including installing new databases, upgrades, backups, performance monitoring, trace file analysis
•Notifies management and external vendors when service levels are not met. Expedite resolution as required, to maintain acceptable customer satisfaction
•Completes assigned work within allotted or prescribed timeframes.
•Manages the Database requests for respective products.
•Develops and executes Unit Tests
•Demonstrates problem solving and innovation
•Gains an in-depth understanding of product business requirements.
•Tests and integrates with other development tasks
•Participates in team activities: Story pointing, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Planning, Release Planning
•Records time and expenses into time entry system.

Desired Profile:
•At least 3 years of overall IT experience
•Strong work experience with Oracle database, PL/SQL and SQL
•Design and develop database objects and queries
•Database modeling experience using Erwin or ER-Studio (Advantage)
•Knowledge of shell programming on LINUX, SOLARIS or any UNIX Variant
•Query optimization and Performance Tuning (Advantage)
•Conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits
•Problem analysis involving interactions/dependencies between UNIX/Linux/Solaris and Oracle
•Work with Oracle DBA and Java Developer teams to analyze requirements, create software designs, and implement these designs with a focus on the Oracle database. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, database table and code design, implementation, coordination with DBAs and developers, maintenance of data models and generation of SQL scripts using data modeling tools
•Assist the development team in setting up product development environment.
