Job Description:
• Responsible for the design, development, deployment and support of Cognos based reporting systems that help end users access and Analyze data across data warehouses and data marts
• Develop and publish new packages using Framework Manager
• Design documentation for custom Cognos Reports and Dashboards
• Responsible for Documentation specifying the proper maintenance and testing of custom Cognos Reports and Dashboards
• Development of formatted reports and integration of those reports to web based Dashbords
• Should be able to work in requirement gathering, designing and solutions development
• Strong experience in Metadata modeling & Framework Manager
• Create and follow best practices, methods, standards, and processes
• Work closely with onsite team members, as needed
• Produce well written and organized design and administrative documentation

Desired Candidate Profile:
• Should posses excellent Cognos programming/development skills
• Minimum 4-5 years working IT experience, with 3 years of Cognos 8.x BI (8.3 & 8.4) Development experience
• Deep hands-on experience on using Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Cognos Connections, Event Studio, Metric Studio and Analysis Studio with the 8.4 Cognos reporting tool suite
• Good background in RDBMS, especially Oracle 10g, including work with SQL, stored procedures, triggers, logical and physical database design
• Should have Working experience of implementation of custom Cognos Reports and Dashboards
• Ability to evaluate and interpret client requirements, and to develop / deliver Cognos Reports appropriately
• Should possess excellent verbal and written communications skills should be complemented with a solid business and technical background
• Strong analytical, problem identification and problem resolution skills
• Should have good knowledge of software development standards and procedures
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Business Suite is a huge plus
• Should have good knowledge in Data Warehouse concepts.
• Should possess strong BI/SQL/PL-SQL concepts
• Knowledge in the areas of Hyperion/Informatics is advantageous.
• Having certifications is a definite added advantage
• Strong experience in SQL, Functions & Stored Procedures
• Should be able work independently
