Job Description:
Support the testing organization and Test Manager in building and managing the test plans
Perform all tasks allocated by the Test Manager
Ensure all tasks allocated by the Test Manager are completed on schedule and within budget
Understand and work toward achieving quality objectives
Communicate status against plan as required
Negotiate the testing requirements with Development
Identify all support requirements for achieving the testing objectives
Identify and implement “best” testing practices
Work directly with the Test Manager and Test Team Leads
Design test matrices with the Test manager and Test Team Leads
Communicate plans, status, issues, and concerns through the appropriate management system
Ensure that all items personally produced have complied with the required testing process
Ensure that all items personally produced have been signed off, as appropriate
Execute test cases as allocated by the Test Manager
Produce plan effort values for each test case developed to aid planning activities
Record actual effort values for all tasks on completion
Raise defect records accurately and with sufficient information, which enables Developers to understand and reproduce the defect
Ensure valid-to-invalid ratio of defect closing codes against defects personally reported is within acceptable boundaries
Execute tests according to the instructions provided
Document the results of the actual test as well as any test data used during the test
Create a TIR, if the actual results do not match the expected results
Pass the test if the actual results agree with the expected results
Ensure that approved changes are integrated into the existing test scripts
Ensure that additional scripts are added as necessary due to change in requirements
Check documents in and out of test case repository
Update test case coverage matrix, as necessary
Provide test case update to the Project Manager and the Test Leads

Desired Candidate Profile:
BE, ME, B.Tech, M.Tech in Computer science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similar discipline. The tester will participate in detailed Test Planning activities and develop the test design with direction from the Test Architect/Planner. They will evaluate the nonfunctional requirements for testability and participate in the review of the technical acceptance criteria as well as develop the test scenarios and test cases for verifying that the "system is built right".
