RAILTEL CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED, a premier scheduled ‘A’ Public
Sector undertaking,under Ministry of Railways has been set up primarily
to modernize and augment the existing communication facilities for
Railways and for commercial users. Company has made substantial
progress in setting up a State Art pan-India Optical Fibre Network,
next to BSNL and is providing bandwidth services to major Telecom
operators and internet &amp; data services to ISPs , Corporates &amp;
Govt.organisations. Applications are invited for the following posts
for Operation &amp; maintenance of Optical Fibre Transmission network
consisting of OFC cable and SDH/PDH equipment, power supplies etc. and
for maintaining books of Accounts in computerized environment.



Desired qualification:

B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics and communication/Telecommunication or
Electronics or Electrical &amp; Electronics or Instrumentation &amp;
Electronics or Computer Engg/computer science from recognized
institution with min.60% marks in aggregate. One year experience in
Telecom sector is desirable.



Compensation package – The compensation package includes basic
pay(IDA), DA(presently 58.1%), HRAliberal, Medical benefits for self
and family, Company lease accommodation at equivalent IDA
scale,Conveyance, LTC, gratuity , EPF and other fringe benefits will be
admissible as per rules of the Corporation. The total approximate
emoluments of E-0 level comes to around Rs.2 lakhs, E-1 level Rs.2.5
lakhs and for E-2 level Rs. 3 lakhs per annum. Probation – 2 years



Career Prospects: With expansion in business of company, substantial
growth in manpower is expected and AMs &amp; Managers will be eligible
to be considered for promotion to higher grades as per the promotion

policy of company. There are reasonably good prospects for further career growth.



1. Job Description :

Operation &amp; maintenance of Optical Fibre Transmission network
consisting of OFC cable and SDH/PDH equipment, power supplies etc.
Managing Day to Day operation &amp; maintenance activities including
coordination with Railways/contractor for OFC cable cut restoration,
reporting of network status, customer activation, provision of service
to customers, testing &amp; commissioning of services, customer
deactivitation. Coordination with officials manning NOC(network
operations centre) for the purpose of provisioning.deactivitation of
services, monitoring of network status, fault reporting etc.



2. (i) The incumbent will draw pay at the minimum of the scale of the
post alongwith allowances as admissible to the post. However,
Candidates having working experience in NOC of MPLS, SDH systems

can be considered for extra increments. Leased residential
accommodation as per Corporation’s rules and entitlement can be availed
at the place of posting in lieu of HRA.

(ii) Technical candidates having working experience of operation &amp; maintenance of optical transmission

network/MPLS network/Network Operation Centre with a major telecom
operator having a all India network &amp; operations can be considered
for additional increments depending on the length of such experience.

(iii) Candidates for Finance having working experience with a major
telecom operators will also be considered for additional increments
depending on the length of such experience.



3. Place of Posting :- Any where in India as per the requirement of the Corporation.



4. Reservation of posts for SC/ST will be as per Government directives.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should enclose an attested copy
of Caste/Tribe certificate issued by the competent authority.



5. Candidates employed in Govt/PSUs should route their applications
through proper channel or produce a ‘ No Objection Certificate’ at the
time of interview, if short listed and called for the interview.



6. The candidates applying against OBC reserved vacancies should note
that they have to produce a valid caste certificate in support of their
belonging to OBC community by the Competent Authority in the prescribed
format for this purpose so as to prove that they do not belong to
‘Creamy Layer’ of the OBCs. Further, the caste to which the candidate
belongs should be the one included in the Central list of OBC since
RailTel Corporation is a Central PSU.



7. No traveling expenses will be paid to the candidates for appearing
in the written test/interview. However, SC/ST candidates, called for
the interview will be reimbursed 2nd class two and fro Rail fare by the
shortest route on production of tickets.



8. Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.



9. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates found
ineligible and not called for written test/interview or for
non-selection.



10.(i) Selection for the post of AM(Tech) will be based on written test
followed by interview for the shortlisted candidates. The written test
will be tentatively held at Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata , Mumbai, Hyderabad
and will comprise 150 objective type questions. Out of 150 questions,
70% questions will be on professional subjects and 30% questions will
be based on general awareness, reasoning and proficiency in English

language.



11 The candidates must give his option of center clearly in the
application form Option of center once exercised will not be changed.
However, in the event of not holding the examination in a particular
city, due to administrative reasons the examination center may be
allotted in some other city and the candidate will have to appear for
the written examination at the center/city finally allotted by the
Corporation.



12. The candidate must attach attested photocopies in support of proof
of age, educational qualifications and experience. Originals need not
be sent at this stage. The originals are required to be produced at the
time of interview. Applications complete in all respects along with a
passport size photograph of candidate, to be pasted at the space
provided in the application form, together with a crossed Bank
draft/pay order of Rs. 250/- drawn in favour of ‘ Educational
Consultants India Limited ‘ payable at New Delhi, should reach at the
address given below on or before 05.06.2006 i.e. by the last date of
receipt of applications. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are
exempted from the payment of application fee.



13. Applications not received with requisite fee or not submitted in
the manner prescribed or without photograph or with less fee or DD/pay
order not drawn on a schedule bank payable at New Delhi or incomplete
or vague or received after the last date of receipt of application i.e.
after 05.06.2006 or due to any other similar reasons will be summarily
rejected. No action will be taken on applications received after the
last date and neither the fee received with such applications nor the
application will be returned. No correspondence from such applicants
and from ineligible candidates will be entertained.



14. Candidates are advised to give specific information and proof by
way of attaching photocopies ofthe original documents/certificates in
support of their experience etc. in the relevant field.



15. Candidates must ensure before applying that they fulfill all the
educational and other requirements and posses the essential
qualifications as earmarked, at the time of applying the post.



16. In case of any dispute the jurisdiction of court will be Delhi /New Delhi only.



17. In case of any discrepancy in the translated version of this
advertisement in Hindi or other language the text of the advertisement
in English language will prevail.



18. The application neatly typed on A4 size paper in the prescribed
format should be sent to Post Box no. No.9, General Post Office, New
Delhi-110001. While sending the application, candidate must write on
the top of the envelope \"application for the post of (Name of
the post)\" and should arrange to send the application in such a manner
that the application reaches at the above address on or before
05.06.06. The last date of receipt of application will not be extended
