    (1) MATERIAL PLANNING AND PROCUREMENT

    (a) SCHEDULING: Finalizing the Tentative and Confirmed Schedules on the basis of the production orders, production targets, minimum and maximum stocks levels, wip stock, safety stocks, etc.
    (b) MATERIAL PROCUREMENT: Procuring material in the following areas to avoid any production loss, assembly line stoppage, etc.
    (i) RAW MATERIAL: Based on the monthly schedule received from marketing deptt, monthly raw material planning is done
    (ii) BOP ITEMS: I have been independently bearing the responsibilities of procuring castings, forgings, sheet metal items, plastic items and rubber parts etc. Total no. of items being procured are more than 300 nos. and from approx. 20 various vendors.
    (iii) OEM SPARES: I have been carrying out purchase to the value of approx. Rs 25 lac per annum for various OEM spares of different kinds viz. hydraulic cylinder, coolant, inserts, boring bars, tool holders, machines procured from OEMs like Haas, Takisawa, PMT Machines. While carrying out the above mentioned procurements, I have also been involved in the following activities:
    a. Preparation of shortage list of those items for which on-line stock is less than the required minimum level.
    b. Constant follow-up with the vendors for critical items;
    c. To monitor the Vendors’ Performance Ratings and to provide them remedies to improve the rating;
    d. To co-ordinate with transporters for material movement within as well as outside the plant in order to avoid the production line stoppage;
    e. To monitor the P.O.s, pending reports, tracking of the delivery schedules, pending payment requests, Job Work Challans, etc.
    f. Co-ordinate with the Q.C. personnel to maintain the desired quality level of productsand to inform the supplier when the lot is rejected;
    g. Personnel activities like employee-motivation, training of people, infusion of job-dedication and team spirit among workers, maintaining cordial relations with manpower, etc.

    (2) INVENTORY CONTROL:
    I have been keeping close watch on the delivery schedules being released for A, B and C – Class items, to control inventory.

    (3) SOURCE IDENTIFICATION:
    Keeping in view the factors like production-capacity, lead-time, quality, overheads, etc. I have borne the responsibility of developing various vendors for the causes of COST REDUCTION, LOCALISATION, STANDARDISATION AND INDIGENISATION of various components.
