I feel that the statement is valid.
I dont believe in superstitions, but the ones who do, just do coz they feel its true. Hence if I do something that goes against a particular superstitious belief, the act might not affect me in any way. But if a believer does something of this kind, he/she might commit some mistake out of fear, and then start believing that bad happened coz of his/her act, even more!
Dont you think so?
Superstition is a belief in supernatural and in the power of something to bring good or bad.If a person succeeds or fails and if he is able to trace back its outcome to someother incident it becomes a superstitious belief.Simply speaking its a natural tendency of a human brain to correlate incidents. For example if a person does well in his business as soon as he gets a child he owes all his success to him.
In short yes superstition is an extension of beliefs.
I agree to this statement .
Surely, the superstition is an extension of our beliefs.
Whatever our ancestors feel good or bad things in doing a task were resulted in these superstitions.but one thing there should be a limit to these extensions.unless n untill it wont effect any other individual, this statement surely holds good.
For ex,some people feel that if a person is go'g out for an improtant work,he shouldn't be questioned for the reason he is leaving. And if he is questioned by his friend or family member ,he shouldn't criticise the other one and he sholud be in a state to think that these superstitions won't play a role in getting his task done.Unless it won't happen ,does we really need to believe these things?
That's a minor thing. But there are some tribal people who believe blindly that if they are diseased, taking the english medicines might degrade their health. How far these superstitions help them?
My opinion is that these superstitions are surely extension of our beliefs and its extension shouldn't affect anyone negatively.
