IS DOWRY NECESSARY FOR TWO PEOPLE TO GET MARRIED ?

hello frnds,


I totally disagree with the concept of dowry i mean we should completely ban this concept. So many women are getting harrass and they are getting killed cos of dowry and many of them are taking steps like they areattempting suicides which is avery shameless act so wehave got the power we can change the world as only youth can change the worldso youth should decide that they are not going to take dowries.


Even taking dowry is a crime but more crime is giving dowries so we should come forward to eradicate it from our society.

Well i totally disagree for the sole reason that a
person shud take dowry 4 marraige .. Since when compared a guy will jus
do a job , but a female will take care of home , her job as well as
kids and lot more ...



And also wat is more important is AFFECTION n LOVE 4 each other
rather than all these things .. I guess guys shud think reg this and
change themselves

i agreed with "pooja's" view.definetly DOWERY is a curse
of sociaty.people think if they r taking more dowery they get prestige in sociaty .so there should be awareness.
1stly,it should be banned.women are getting harrass and they are getting killed bcoz of dowry and many of them are taking steps like they are attempting suicides.
we should come forward to eradicate it from our society.but its not an easy task.to eradicate the dowry from our sociaty,there should be awareness among youth espacialy in indian woman.
there should be awareness from childhood.to give and take dowery both r declared as a crime.if any one is caught he/she should be punished.

Hi Everybody ,

I DONT agree with any of you . I think it is the prime responsibility of a girl's parents to give dowry . Parents should see that daughter should be given her share after marriage . I think it is responsibility of a girl to demand her parents for dowry ..this way she can get her share . ( Preventing brothers from eating away Sisters share )

But this should not exceed the agreed upon terms before marriage .i.e after the marriage ..husband should not force his wife to get more dowry ..This is the primary reason for Dowry deaths and harrasments .

I think Dowry should not be banned ..But harrasment for more dowry should be Banned . Before the marriage we should register the marriage along with the agreed upon dowry and gifts with the Govt ..this can prevent harrasment for more dowry .

I never told that u will take dowry rather im jus asking why do
need dowry sir thatz all ... Today higher class people can pay lakhs n
indeed crores of RS as dowry ..but wat ab middle class people who
dont have money itself .. they harass females after geting married ..
wqe are all concerned ab them not all segments ...

And also one need to be individualistc rather than
expecting money from others .. .. If we are capable like have a gud job
for both n wife we can earn with that all the things this is wat i feel
... donno ab others ...

Even i agree with u all. Before asking some one to change first we have to change and we should also change our environment around us.Even government should pass strict rules which may help in rural areas as they can fight against dowry problems. They should conduct awareness programs and bring awareness. And also a girl should get married when she gets minimum qualification by which she can stand on her foot so that if she can stand by her self if any problem come in future.

As our friend binny said girls can demand a share from their parents property legally,But not in the name of dowry.Now both boys and girls can excel well in all fields,and there is no differentiation between the two in terms of abilities.Then why should a boy demand dowry from a girl who can earn equally and can take care of the entire family.The only way to eliminate this system from roots is either by the way of punishment depending on the degree of crime,or its our responsibility not to accept or take dowryand dont encourage any one to take dowry.So its the resposibility of both boys and girls not one.Edited by: keerthi
