Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
Absolutely there should be no problem in singing "Vande Mataram". Muslims in India deliberately create problem for each and everything. Most of them owe allegiance to Pakistan and follow what Pakistan tells them.
Mr Arjun Singh has been creating one problem or the other. First 27% reservation. Second text books in schools. Now, this singing of "Vande Mataram". He is a frustrated person who has been denied the PM's post. |

Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
Our politicians always find ways to deviate our attention from real hot issues to petty issues.what way it is going to help the already patriotic people?True love of the country is in one's heart and not by showing off!Our politicians must concentrate on how to take our country to progress rather than wasting time on this.We tax payers must realise this stupid game of them.

Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
Obviously no harm in singing Vande Mataram.
It is like when the baby speaks first time in his/her life they call to his/her mother ,as their affection with mother is too much they love mother then why not we treat Vande Mataram or Jana Gana Mana as our national pride and keep our religious differences comes later then the national interest. As Vande Mataram and Jan Gan Man has to come from our heart and it will come if one is true Patriotic. |

Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
Though language of Vande Mataram does indeed sound like a Hindu song (sanskrit), it should not be perceived as such; but as a national song. Tomorrow some South Indian / Bengali will object to it as a Hindi song. So where will it end? Should then the national song be a mixture of all languages? It sounds ridiculous!! Nationalism does require some sort of symbolism/ceremonial form, and so nobody should object to it. Indian Muslims will be further exhibiting alieanation if they protest against this. Even Indian British/USA citizens should sing their respective national anthems, if they live their.

Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
See one more opinion of my friend :
I am far away from my beloved country India (Bharat). If any one say Bholo Bharat Maata Ki, then all my energy come out from the heart and without caring for whether we are in office or on street we say Jai. If we hear either national song or Jana Gana Mana, we literaly cry. we respect our country so much. If any one say any thing against our country, we feel like killing that guy. Vande Mataram is one of those petriotic song. We should make it to sing every day in all schools, colleges etc. Regarding the contraversies, there are political leaders who do not know anything about the country are ruling. They just want power. By supporting the terrorists (the one who hate to sing the motherland song), they just want to get vote and hece power. Mulayum Sing Yadav is always backing such activities. Why intelligence in India is not taking him as serious against national security. I strongly suggest the one who don't want to repect, he/she should be sent out of the country. If we support such activities then we are encouraging disrespect to our own country. One side Congress asks for support to the country and aother side it supports Muslims against the country, why ? |

Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
A Historical Perspective
Vande Mataram has been a disputed hymn through out the freedom movement until now.As this song is basically polytheistic and atheistic.Even Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru didn’t consider it as a national song and Subhash Chandra Bose as well opposed it even though he was a Bengali. The Indian National Congress had deleted some of its parts declaring them to be disputable and communal. All India Students’ Union too didn’t consider it suitable for recitation during students’ congregations declaring that it incited communal hatred.”(Reference:Statesman,December 12,1938) Mr. Ram Manohar Lohia, another great socialist leader, too had come down very heavily on Anand Math (the novel which contained Vande Mataram) stating that the novel was a blot on our national struggle as it contained a declaration which welcomed the arrival of the English who would protect the life and property of the Indians from the Muslim rulers. In this way the novel is a source of humiliation to our national struggle.”(Reference:Jarida Ansari, August 18, 1938) This present issue will give political millage to politicians promoting hatred among indians and diverting attention of nation from real issues |

Re: Group Discussion Contest-151
in one line...u can't force anyone to sing anything which one finds offensive or against one's religion or sentiments of society as whole............as preethi said, (arre, she got emotional, any plans to join medha patkar gang,preethi....just kiddin'??) vande matram is a patriotic song and it has to come from the heart.
