Hi all,

From today , I am starting a new concept which is known as "Virtual Interview" .

The concept is simple , as the name suggests it is a virtual interview.
i.e I will give a realtime scenario of an interview . You need to respond to the questions as if you are being asked by a real interviewer sitting infront of you.

After evaluating the whole Interview , I will provide you FEEDBACK based on my experience & known facts..

# It was upto the standard and i feel i ve done well

# Music is my passion. I sing and collect lyrics. I ve won few prizes in debates,singing and painting competetions.

# Its bcoz i ve found interest in it from the very old days of graduation and i ve worked hard to be professional in it and in todays world wherever u go i believe we should have a database <back end> and <front end> technology in hand.

# yes i ve worked with C, C++,Visual Basic, Java, SQL and PL/SQL during my graduation as part of curriculum we had. I am more comfortable with C and C++ concepts. As i have been working for a year and a half my core competencies are Core Java,Winrunner, SQL and PLSQL

* 7) Tell me the difference between C , C++ and Java
# C is a Structed Language which was introduced in <year>, Because of the lack of OOPS concepts C++ as an object Oriented Language was gained importance which was a major difference between it.
In the mid nineties because of World Wide Web Java began to gain importance and because of its support for OOPS featuresmsecurity and portability Java has become popular.C and C++ applications were not easily portable as Java.

* 8) Which is the better language , in your view and why ?
# Java is a better language because when it comes to Portability issues, Java stands tall as a language that has portability and requires only the appropriate Virtual machine to run an application.

Apart from this, it provides OOPS support, Security restrictions over any other language such as C and C++.


* 9) Write an example showing function Overloading & Overriding in C++

* 11) What is Normalization? Need for Normalization.
# Normalization is a process of avoiding redundancy of data such that consistency of data is never lost.
There is a need for normalization inorder to save disk storage space, and easily manage data in the form of relationships(E.F Codd in 1970's proposed the relational model) which helps data consistency and maintains Data Integrity & Security.
Normalization allows a user who created the data to get a conceptual understanding of the work done as data in the database increases i.e, complex structures broken into simpler ones.


* 12) What are the Normal forms we have?
# 1st Normal Form, 2 nd Normal Form, 3rd Normal Form, BCNF Normal Form
If i am right a database can support upto 5th Normal Form ( not sure have only heard it)

* 13) What is a Trigger?
# A trigger is a validation check which is fired based on the logic written. It is a way of maintaining Database Integrity check.

* 14) What’s the difference between DDL and DML statements?
# DDL stands for Data Definition Language while DML stands for Data Manipulation Language.

DDL statements are used to create user defined data structures such as table and they do not need a commit statement.
The Very Word Data Defintion implies they define a structure.
DDL - Create table (create a data structure )

DML statement can only manipulate the data in the data structures present or create. They cannot change the data structure .. They can only act on the data structure that has been created(table data)
DML - Select,update ( act on data in a table)

* 15) What are the DDL commands we have?
#CREATE,ALTER,DROP AND TRUNCATE ARE CALLED DDL COMMANDS.

* 16) What is a view?
# A View is a stored query i.e, it is a Selected Collection of data which can be from a single table or collection of table. A view does not contain any data. It creates the data each time its accessed.

* 17) Where you want yourself to be seen in next 3 years.
# I would like to see myself as an efficient employee with a good success rate in ur esteemed organization.

#my name is chayanika.i did my MCA in 2005 with 84% marks from WBUT, graduation in 2000 with 55% from Gauhati University, HS with 63% from and HSLC with 75% both from Assam board. my core skills include C,C++,Java,Oracle,HTML,Javascript etc.presently i don't have any work experience.

#it is Java

#Sir, i knowthe 3 programming languages C,C++ and Java. Using all of them I foundmyselfmuch comfortable with java than the other two. may be it is because the features Java provides which C or C++ fails to. frankly speaking I m a bit afraid of the pointers which i don't have to face at all in Java(with a smile). moreover i feel though C++ is also an Object oriented programming language, Java is a more compact one and itcan be capturedvery easily, even for a newcomer it is true. And also comapred to the other 2 languages I found it easier to track programs in Java. Last but not the least Java has the feature of Platform independence which makes it much stronger than C or C++. these are the reasons why Java is my favourite subject among the programming languages.

* 6) Do u know any programming language ?
#As i explained Sir, C,C++ and Java.

* 7) Tell me the difference between C , C++ and Java
#C is mainly a procedural language whereas C and C++ are Object Oriented languages though Java is a more secured one.This is the basic difference and technicallywe can further differentiate them taking two at a time.


a)pointers are used in C,C++ but not supported in Java


b)C is mainly oriented around procedures whereas C++ and Java are around objects.


c)C doesn't have the features like inheritance,polymorphism whereas these features make JAva and C++ stronger.


d)Again Java isplatform independenti.e. it can be used in any platform only if JVM is installed whereas that is not the case od C or C++.

* 8) Which is the better language , in your view and why ?
#in my view, Java is a better language. it is because, in it is an OOP and Object Oriented languages are easier to understand, write and maintain fortheir inheritance,polymorphism and other object oriented features. Again although C++ is an OOP, java is a more secured and strong one because of its platform indepence.And an easier one also as it doesn't have the complication of pointer arithmetic.

#Normalization is a process of simplifying a relationship and maintaining its consistency by waving off redundancy,update anomalies,insertion anomalies and deletion anomalies with the help of Functional Dependencies.


Normalization is needed mainly to maintain consistency and integrity of a relation.

* 12) What are the Normal forms we have?
#1NF, 2NF,3 NF, 4NF 5NF and BCNF. I have also heard of DKNF(Domain Key Normal Form), but don't know anything abour it.

* 13) What is a Trigger?
#A Trigger is a statement that the system executes automatically as a side effect of a modification to a database.
