Re: nervousness during interview.......
Let’s do a Root causal Analysis of this fear! 1. The very first reason - Lack of communication skills - We are knowledgeable, but we have problem to communicate – then we will never be confident of what and how we are going to answer in an interview. There are many ways to suggested by many people to gain communication skills. Start acquiring this skill right from the beginning. Don’t wait till the date you when you must interview! I have seen many people, getting jobs (even if they are technically skilled) with good communication skills. Communication skill is not only speaking in English. But involves lot of other things like how you express your interest to learn things , your willingness to face challenges, how much u are interested in this job and so on.. the list continues,, 2. The second reason lack of knowledge – The best way to over come this is to get us prepared fully for the interview. Here fullest in the sense best of our own efforts. If we are confident of what we know and we don’t know then that gives us a great +ve energy which will drive out the fear. As this can be rightly pointed out by “Failing to prepare is to preparing to Fail” There are lots to add in this list, but on an interview day, we can try out these things to boost our fear. ** Always wear clothing which you are used to wearing and you feel, you will look good in those. This will boost up your energy level! Never try new bikes, outfits, pen, shoes etc. on an interview day! This will increase your tension if the thing fails to function on that day! ** Have a pleasant look and a smile on your face, Smiling will reduce your pressure and gives a good impact on others also **A polite and a pleasing behavior – try to communicate with other candidates who have come for the interview. Have a small chat..This need not even be related to the interview. You will get a change of and will push off your fear for interview! **Always have a + ve thought that if you fail in an interview, then the company is not luck enough to hire you! But at the same time, after you are done with the interview, always record in your diary what all happened in the interview… the Questions that were asked.. Any unusual things that happened etc.. Also make sure to note the Answers which would have been better than the one you gave to the interview panel! And last but not least! Have a strong faith that failures are stepping stones to success and you never know, success might be the immediate next step to you! Hope this helps! Best of Luck!

Re: nervousness during interview.......
Nabanita & Rama’s points are good.
I would like to add one more point to this. Mostly the junior level candidates face/have this nervousness problem, its because of one reason that they consider the interviewer to be more knowledgeable person and they fear how am I going to give an appropriate answer to him/her. The fact is no interviewer expects a 100% correct answer, they just try to know the candidates interest level. How can one overcome this nervousness is just by placing themselves in the interviewer position. Just think what sought of answer you will expect if you are an interviewer and answer according to it. (Its not that always this strategy will work out, this is just one of the ways to overcome the fear/nervousness).
