HI,


SPELLING RULES
1.Singular nouns ending with 'ch/sh/s/o/x' take 'es' as the plural form.


Examples:
Bench-benches
Brush-brushes
Class-classes
Box-boxes
Potato-potatoes


Some Exceptions:

Some of the words ending with 'o' do not take 'es'

Examples:
Video-videos
Dynamo-dynamos
2.Singular nouns ending with 'y' take 'ies' as the plural form.


Examples:
City-cities
Country-countries
Lady-ladies


Some exceptions:


If a word contains a vowel before the letter 'y',it do not take 'ies' as its plural form.


Examples:
Monkey-monkeys
Toy-toys


3.Singular nouns ending with 'f' or 'fe' take 'ves' as the plural form.


Examples:
Leaf-leaves
Calf-calves


Some exceptions:

Some of the words takes only 's' as plural form.

Examples:
Roof-roofs
Chief-chiefs


4.Some words have the same form for both singular and plural

Examples:
Deer
Fish


5.Some appear like plural but they are singular.

Examples:
News
Physics


6.Some words takes different spelling for plural.

Examples:
Man-men
Mouse-mice
Foot-feet
