Prof. K. Devadoss, KCT, Coimbatore-06. This is the continuation of my first mail. Based on the response, I would like to continue writing on the same topic, EASY HOMONYMS. Lesson :2 1. ASCENT - Rise, Mounting upward ASSENT - Act of agreeing. e:g - The ascent of Mount Everest is not easy. e:g - The president gave his assent to the Bill. 2. BAIL - To liberaate from custody BALE - To bundle or package of goods e:g - The judge granted him bail. e:g - The cloth was packed in bales. 3. BORED- That which bores BOARD(V) - Get in e:g - His story bored her. e:g - Please board the plane immediately. 4. COUNCIL - An assembly for consultation COUNSEL - Deliberarion, Consultation, Advice, etc e:g - He is a member of the legislative council. e:g - We must listen to the counsel of our elders. 5. COARSE - Rude, Not refined COURSE - A running, Passage, Route, etc e:g - He has coarse skin. e:g - What course of action would you recommend? Keep posting your queries and responses. BOARD(V)--GET IN Please board the plane immediately then how can we use "ABOARD". pleaase post some stuff to match with GRE standards, Thank you in advance regards wizkid
