Re: Need ADF Faces Pdf
Hari,
Check your mail box for the files... For any self study training material, look at Oracle JDeveloper home page. If you find any difficulty in doing it, let me know. Thanks, Krishna

Re: Need ADF Faces Pdf
Hi Krishna,
I am very thankful for ur help.... but i have some help while designing ADF page with 5 input text fields with label and with 2 buttons... i am able to drag and drop all the components but not in a proper alignment and not in proper size for each ext field ... so please tell me some basic funda to design a ADF Faces page and also how to populate the data for that page ... As i followed the following Steps to create a ADF page with Bussiness Componets: 1. created Model and view for a web-app + db connection for the app 2.configured the JSF Work flow in Faces-config.xml with 2 JSF Faces one is EmpInfo.dspx second one is EmpDetails.dspx. work flow will be EmpInfo page to empDetails ... 3. For the first page i mean EMPINfo.dspx i took the pagepanel then i dropped panel group then i took PanelBorder 4.i have finished the page by dragging and dropping 4 inputtext fields now these fields are not displayinging in the proper alignment ... please tell me how to align the componets and populate the data from db for the above 4 test fields Thanks Hari Kumar

Re: Need Oracle ADF Faces Pdf
Going through Oracle Tutorials will help you in all these details.... JDev is not a simple tool to learn by playing around UI.
I don't have much hand-on in using Oracle JDeveloper. But I will share my knowledge with you.If you have created Views and Model then automatically a "Data Control" will be created for you for those views and model. Publish your Views (empinfo and empdetails) in AM's UI section. Later you can directly drag and drop your View from "Data Control Pallet" on to your web page and all fields will be created and coded to fetch data. You don't have to write any code for it. You can also align your fields as you want. Aligning the fields explicitly, I am not sure about it. But in one training I have seen that we can select object in object pallet and right click to see the alignment options... but it didn't work for me when I tried in my JDev instance. May be I have done something wrong. Oracle has detailed demos in their site (they will demo tool by developing a sample application with all features) to create applications using JDev and following them will help more than any one. Thanks, Krishna

Re: Need Oracle ADF Faces Pdf
Expose your VOs and EOs to Application Module (AM). Then drag and drop your VOs onto your pages and you will see entire pages is designed automatically.
If you want to add any of your custom code, write it in page impl file and expose it to AM. In oracle website, if you search and download "SRDemo" project, it will have all these steps listed very clearly. Thanks, Krishna

Re: Need Oracle ADF Faces Pdf
Hari,
I don't exactly remember from where I have come across it. But if I remember correctly I got that link from JDeveloper tool itself. Look into "help" menu or JDev home page as soon as it is opened. One of them should have link (you might have to dig through the links from home page). You don't have to code for state maintenance of pages. ADF will take that responsibility. But if you want to access those values in next pages, probably you have to put those values in $sessionScope (Expression Language syntax). Let me assert you once again. I am not an expert in using this tool/technology. I only have basic knowledge. So I may not be able to help you long way in this journey. Better you take help of Oracle forums for accurate help. Referring below links will help you a lot going further - Oracle JDeveloper - Official Home Page Recommended Reading on Oracle ADF Note- You may need to be registered user to access these pages. You can register yourself at free of cost. All the best!!! Thanks, Krishna

Re: Need Oracle ADF Faces Pdf
Hari,
No need to say sorry for this. I just want to caution you not to keep any high hopes on me in this regard. Otherwise, you are most welcome to post your doubts. If I can help you in any way, I will do it for sure. Thanks, Krishna
