Can we compile class without main method?

Will the java compilers compile the java classes that are not having main() method?

yes

java compilers compile programs that don't have main

but java interpreter will not be able to find out the method to start execution.

yes ya .. for example APPLETS are there right . they dont have main ..

no interpreter is involved here .. only compiler will compile the program

Yes the java compiler will be able to compile the classes without main() the examples for this are APPLETS,SERVLETS,STRUTS.
