. What is Java Certification?
Java certification is the process whereby a candidate can demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the Java platform. Sun Microsystems, the inventors of the Java platform, developed three distinct levels of certification. The levels of certifications are: Sun Certified Progammer for the Java 2 Platform (SCJP) Sun Certified Developer for the Java 2 Platform (SCJD) Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java 2 Platform (SCJA) , Enterprise Edition Techonology 2. How do I start Registration process? All certification exams are conducted by Sylvan Prometric.In order to take the Certification exam A. Get the Exam Voucher(s) from Sun Microsystems. Can I write the exam any where in the world? Yes, Provided if the testing centres are available. 5. Can I take an exam on the same day? No, The local Testing Centre needs atleast 24 hours to download the exam . 6. How many attempts can I make to complete the test? As many as you want ,there is no limitation on the number of tests. 7. How long a Sun Exam Vouher is valid ? The Voucher is valid for one Year. 8. where do I find the exam objectives? Visit the SUN web site at http://suned.sun.com/usa/certification/index.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Programmer Exam Details -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starting October 4 2000, Sun has changed the format for Java Programmer Certification exam for Java 2 (SCJP2). The following are the changes in Sun's Java Certification exam. 1. How much do I need to pay to write Java certification exam? The cost of exam varies from country to country. United States US$150 Canada $160.10(cdn) India Rs/7000 UK 117.6 Pounds 2. Do I have to show any identity at testing centre before taking exam? Yes. You have to show at least two of your identities. 3. How may questions will be asked in the exam and what is the duration of the exam ? The exam consists of around 59 questions. The time limit to complete the exam is 90 minutes . I think the time given is well sufficient. 4. What is the pattern of the exam ? The exam questions will be in the form of Multiple choice or Fill in the blanks .In the new exam pattern more questions are being asked related to coding than pure theory. 5. What is the Qualifying percentage for the exam? You should get at least 61% to pass the exam. 6. What do I get after passing the exam ? After passing the exam, within 6 weeks you get the Sun Certified Programmer certificate from SUN Microsystems. Then if you are interested you can send an agreement form to Sun Microsystems to permit you, to use Sun logo on your business cards and letter heads etc. 7. What are the books are available for Java Certification? Here is the list of commonly used books for Java Certification. hiiiiiii everybody.the information was very helpful.i'm a btech 2006 passout.I am gud in core java.I am intested in giving my sjcp exam.Is exp mandatory for sjcp???kindly suggest some gud institutes 4 sjcp in hyderabad.

Its great that u wanna write SCJP... we dont need to have exp for writing SCJP.... any one can write it... as far as my knowl is concerned there is no such institute which provides training for SCJP.. there are some online trainings offered by sun microsystems.... Its better to prepare by ourself..... if u hav any doubts just post here reg wizkid
