Gateway not responding in client PC

Gateway not responding in node PC.It's running under Windows XP Sp2.When i ping a gateway it says request time out. It's not configured on DHCP but it's manually configured by IP address.Network card drivers are fine and also network LAN connections shows connected. Anyone can explain the cause of it? it would be greatly appreciated at an earliest reply.

Regards,
Vidhyabalan

Re: Gateway not responding in client PC

Vidhyabalan,

Have you tried to restart the LAN connection? Are you sure your LAN card drivers were installed perperly (even though default drivers are installed, they don't work for some cards)? Are you sure your cable connection is proper? if you open the network connection data transfer, are you seeing sent and received as zero's or only sent is zero?

Thanks,
Krishna
