A public synonym is an alias name for an object using which any user within the database can access the object created by the owner.

thanks ajit and Kirtee. but i want to ask synonym is private also?wat do you mean by public?

if the synonym is created with out "PUBLIC" key word, then it is private by default. Which means, only the owner of the schema can access the synonym.
