How are do you want to display records? Is it in SQL*Plus interface or in D2k interface or some other interface? What do you mean by optimum performace? How do you measure it? As far as I know, optimum performance is just a relative term and is never defined or benchmarked. Thanks, Krishna

optium performance cannot be predicted but u can check the execution plan of the data being retirved using the tools provided by oracle tkprof, stats pack.

we can display any no of records but depends on how we designed the table using normalization rules. if more records exist we can go for partitioning the tables
