GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING GATE.

Eligibility: The candidates with following academic background are eligible to appear for GATE 2007.
(a) Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/ Pharmacy and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes;
(b) Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes;
(c) Candidates in the second or higher year of Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's Degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology;
(d) Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE) as equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech. (those who have completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible).

There are two different processes by which a candidate can apply for GATE 2007, namely, “online” and “offline”. For general category candidates, the application fee is Rs. 900 for the online process and Rs. 1000 for the offline process. For SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 400 for online and Rs. 500 for offline. The application fee is not refundable.
