AGE: 28 years and below as on 31.12.2008.

Relaxation in qualifications: In case of SC/ST candidates, relaxation to the extent of II Class of Degree prescribed for the post will be considered.
Reservations: Reservations will be applicable to SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates as per rules.
Training Period: Twelve months.
Consolidated Stipend: Rs.15,000/- per month during the training period.

Absorption: On successful completion of 12 months training period, they will be absorbed in E-1 Grade in the scale of pay of Rs.8600-250-14600/- with applicable allowances and other benefits. (Scales are due for upward revision from 1.1.2007).

AGE: 25 years as on last date of receipt of applications. Age limit is relax able by 5 years in case of SC/STs and 3 years in case of OBCs.

Training Period: Twelve months.
Consolidated Stipend: Rs.10,000/- per month + Victualling (Food) Allowance, as applicable to the Petty Officers cadre will be paid during the “on-board training”.
