3 elephants are standing in water...
12 Legs of the Elephants are visible when seen above the water but only 10 legs are visible when seen under the water..Why?

is it becouse of refrection of light in water

Because of the refraction of light in water the legs combine and in water they appear as 10 instead of 12!!

Refraction only decreases the length of the legs seen inside the watter.I think the reason might be the foot of those 2 legs not seen (bottom part) are just touching the water.
