An elf makes a Christmas card in the shape of a semi-circle with a radius of 8 inches. He wishes to stick a rectangular picture of 8 inches width and 4 inches height on it, but finds that the picture does not fully fit within the semi-circle.

false, the radius,8 inches is the same at every point on the circle, which is more than 4 inches of rectangular picture height and diameter also 16 inches which is more than the width of picture.

the answer for this is false... bcoz the rectangular picture correctly fits over the semi -circle....
for this to verify... just find the areas of semi-circle and rectangle.. and compare..
when compared ul find the rectangle area is lesser than semi-circle's area.. hence rect... correctly fits in the semi-circle.. as answer is in negation to the question.. hence false 100.48(semi-circle area) > 32(rectangular area)
