Explanation of Virus

WHAT IS A VIRUS?

1) Virus is a little program whos activity can destruct/destroy some files and a computer system. If this program does not open, it's inactive and could not or will not destroy anything.

WHAT IS A VIRUS-EMAIL?

2) The virus program is brought to you by an email as attachment. It has a server itself (virus server). File virus attachments cannot go to another email, such as an email was sent by user (netter), member, moderator etc to be as their attachment. It must be brought to you by email itself,that we called EMAIL Of VIRUS.

WHAT'S THEIR ADDRES?

3) EMAIL OF VIRUS would be sent by any email address of any account, that it found and cracked from some mailbox or address-book of other person anywhere. So that why the email of virus looks like it was sent by our friend, our member,our moderator etc..... even it is able to email a virus by our own email address.

HOW TO SEE IS THAT A VIRUS ATTACHMENT?

4) To identification of virus attachment:

a). it has a small size ( <150KB )
b). it has extension file name such as below:

*.scr
*.clp
*.pif
*.bat
*.exe
*.com
*.txt
*.doc
*.lhz
*.rhz

and some time it's compressed by *.zip file.

Also by the fake name HotMovie.MPEG_ _________ scr.

Actualy the file is virus file with extension .scr


HOW TO SEE IS THAT AN EMAIL VIRUS?

5) You are would able to understand an email virus from their SUBJECT, most of them contains an amazing statement or unsusal word, such as below:

Hokki=)
Hi :)
ello!=))
Hello -:))
Hey, dude, it's me ^_^
access Mpeg
Re:your text
Re:Text message
Re:Msg reply
Re:Is that your document?

Re:Hot Movie(MPEG)
Re:Information. ..

Re:This is your photos!:)

and more, and more...

If you received emails with the subject matter as above, you
should delete even with out openin.


NOTE:

Don't have words in ur email subject which resembles a virus mail Otherwise your email would be deleted by recipient[s] .

BEAWARE it's dangerous.

*** If one of your file is infected by virus, it will change into function of a virus and might infecte all files in your hard disk.

Ummm...mostly accurate however missing a few things.

Virus: These act in a similar way to the human or biological viruses,they attach themselves to hosts (your files) and from there attempt to infect other hosts (Files).Usually but not exclusivly written in low levels languages such as asm (16 or 32 bit) they act quickly and can do most things (Not including burning down your house,see my other post) but cannot do anything more than any other kind of program.

Trojans: Named after the famous Horse of troy,they are programs that do something unexpected (No,your computer will not start spewing out invading troops) however it may delete/format/generally abuse your files or PC settings.

Worms: A worms purpose is to spread,nothing more,it embeds itself into your system and from there attemps to move on to another system via any means possible (Read; is programmed to use).They rarely damage files and do NOT infect files they simply enter,then move on.There are a large number of ways these can spread including Email,Networks and open ports to name just 3.

Droppers:These are NOT malware in themselves as such however they usully create malware.They act in a similar way to a trojan and are a subset of trojans.When the host file is executed it "drops" the internal virus file onto your computer and from there the malware is free to do as it will.

Malware:Any software that does something nasty.

As to infectable extensions the list is HUGE. all the afore mentioned ones PLUS others such as

.eml
.hlp
.pif
.pf
.JPG (Yes a picture format! they contain no executable code but can be used as droppers by buffer overrun)
.pdf

to name but a few.Basically the list of NON infectable targets is now far far smaller than the list of infectable ones.

Oh and the most terrifying virus of all,

This one is a real horror!!!! it spreads faster than any other type!!

The trepxe! (Hopefully some can read backwards)

This starts out as a well intentioned computer "Expert" hearing something on the web then repeating it to all his mates/friends/family/the entire online community from there the news of this virus "Spreads" like wildfire.

The worst bit about this virus?? it's a rumor most likely originated by some spotty 12 year old who hasn't the programming skills to actually write a real virus so instead resorts to rumor mongering to achieve the same levels of panic as a real piece of malware.The worst part is that the rumor is spread with the best of intentions.
Reminds me of an old saying.
"The worst of mankinds horrors have been comitted with the best of intentions"
The easiest one to kill off,simply VERIFY then RE Verify before passing the information on :)
