Problem with my 'C' Drive

pls help me

I was shocked when i saw my C Drive's Free Space. It Shows only 993MB.
But when i checked the size of the files of this drive it shows only 2.5GB.
The partition of C drive is 8 GB. I was totally confused with these contradicting facts
When I check the c Drive using Error-Checking Utility it shows
"Windows was unable to complete the disk check".
Please help in this regard
Thanks in advance

Re: Problem with my 'C' Drive

That one is not a virus. You need to defragment your C drive.

choose start>programs>accessories>system tools>disk defragmentor

I think this one will solve your problem !

Re: Problem with my 'C' Drive

Before defragment check your temp files........

Goto start->run->%temp%

here some unwanted files will be there u delete those files first

after that u defragment the system............
