Angry Connecting LAPTOP to TV

Hi, I have an XP professional laptop and I have a S Video cable (One end to Laptop and other video output cables to TV). I am not getting any display output options after I press Fn + F5 (Generally a list of available outputs like TV, Monitor, Projector etc).
What could be the reason? Does it need any special driver to load? or I need a different cable to connect?
Can someone please help me.

Re: Connecting LAPTOP to TV

the cable you have going to the tv is either a vga cable or an s-video. both of which does not transmit audio. go to radio shack and get a 3.5mm male to sterio RCA male cables and hook that up to your headphone jack then plug it into the audio input of the tv then you will have sound.
