IBM Introduces Flash Memory Killer
Phase-change technology is still in the development stage for memory chips, but it is seen as one of the most likely successors to current flash technology and potentially even RAM. Phase-change memory is nonvolatile, meaning it can store data even when the power is turned off, and is roughly the same speed as existing RAM.
