Please help....

I'm new in the field of testing. I'm in need of tools which could help in managing the report. No doubt, there are several tools available. While browsing I came across some tools namely Rational Robot, Zephyr, SilkCentral Test Manager, but, every tool has its pros and cons; I am not sure which one is best to use. Any advice will be appreciated.

Re: Please help....

Hightech, whatever tools u have get used to it. the terminology/methodology is the same for all. Eventhough u get used to Rational Robot u need to know first hand information about others like QC etc.,Not every company uses the same tool like mercury rational products. Depending on the application/usage every company uses different tools. Sincere advise is to get used to one tool and subsequently learn/know about other tools and their concepts.

Re: Please help....

hi hightech,

It's good you had also joined the testing world.i want to tell u one thing, depend upon what u want to test you have to select the suitable automation tool.
for example:- if u want to test performance of the server or application u have to go for LoadRunner
if u want to test the functionality of any application u have to go for Quick Test Professinal or if u want to generate defect reports automatically when u do manual or automation u have to go for Quality Center.
depend upon the type u have to select the automation tool.
hope u got it what i want to tell u.
