The collection of links for Testing material and Books are very good, thanks for giving the valuable links, But I think it’s good to concentrate more on practical wise comparing to theoretical wise.
There are so many tools in market which is really useful for the Testers like
TestersDesk.com
Automation tools
Performance tools etc
Let us take our tool itself the tool name is TestersDesk.com which is good in both Test Design and Test Data Generation, The place in which all the Testers are weak in Test Design and Test Data Generation for that sake we have build this tool
I can give a good example to better understand of the tool and how it will be used in real time projects
Let us take one feature of TestersDesk.com, Testcase Permutations Generator
Change in order of actions can lead to change in behavior. It is a least argued fact in the way how software applications work. Testers have the need to change the order of key test actions to see if they cohesively work well-- some call them as Scenario Tests, Test Stories, Act-like-a-customer tests and so on...
For eg the input that I have entered in Testcase Permutations Generator is like below
Purchase item
Visit customer support
Generate statement
Search item
There is a chance of occurring the bug when we change the order and test the input, this feature is having the power of generating all the order combinations for the above input it generates 24combinations but manually covering all these combinations for big applications is too difficult.
In real time let us take an example of banking application
Let us say that a banking application works perfectly in showing the balance money when the test actions are done in the following sequence
Change Password-->Check Balance--->Transfer Funds
Let us hypothetically say there is a conflict on the data updating process when balance is checked after changing the password, then the following sequence may not work
Transfer Funds--->Change Password-->Check Balance
To reduce conflict in the Test actions, Testcase permutations Generator is very good tool to cover all the actions and reduces bug free.
